Transvaginal Ultrasound

It is considered first-line diagnostic examination. The experience and expertise of the endometriosis specialist are of utmost importance in order to reach the correct diagnosis and staging of the disease. Ultrasound is a simple and painless test, performed in the doctor’s office.
With modern transvaginal ultrasound, we can diagnose ovarian endometriosis (size and number of cysts) with accuracy. It is also possible to simultaneously diagnose foci of deep endometriosis, provided that the gynecologist has the appropriate expertise. It is extremely important to have a clear picture of the exact extent and locations of endometriosis lesions by ultrasound, both to counsel the patient, as well as to have a structured plan before potential surgery, in order to avoid any unpleasant surprises during the operation.

It is, however, important to acknowledge that a negative ultrasound does not definitively rule out a diagnosis of endometriosis in all cases.
Dr. Grigoriadis has extensive experience in the ultrasound diagnosis of endometriosis and is a frequent invited speaker at international conferences on the correlation of ultrasound diagnosis of endometriosis with surgical findings. Trust us for the ultrasound diagnosis of endometriosis!

We will discuss the ultrasound findings with you in detail and formulate a personalised care plan that is right for you and your needs.
